Easter Vacation Destinations

One doesn’t need to have an excuse for outings when it comes to Easter weekend. Many people prepare for vacations for Easter as this is the time when the weather is changing into pleasant and warmer days and evenings.

Most people think of carnivals, bands, parades, and fanfares when it comes upon hearing the word Easter. Thus, people who are planning an Easter vacation may want to consider destinations such as Jamaica, Spain and Portugal. Every year, the Easter Carnival of Jamaica starts before daybreak on Easter Sunday and goes until very late at night. Many tourists come to the place to watch the carnival which ends with the Road March performed by participants clad in colorful clothes. Semana Santa in Spain, on the other hand, is famous for churches. In this city, Easter eve is a special event where priests and religious parsons carry out processions while dressed in long robes and hoods. In Portugal, there is a small town named Sao Bras de Alportel which has several quiet and peaceful churches and pleasant beaches. The town also has a unique way of celebrating Easter Sunday. People decorate the streets with colorful ribbons and flowers. From the main church of the town, a procession goes out with religious members, priests and the public shouting slogans like “Hallelujah” and “Christ has risen”.

Many airlines offer Easter promotional travel packages and tickets to these destinations.
